# Release of Nicki Minaj After Arrest in the Netherlands for Drug Possession

American rapper Nicki Minaj was fined in the Netherlands after being arrested at Amsterdam Airport with cannabis in her possession, according to Dutch media reports. Dutch authorities detained Minaj for drug possession just hours before her planned performance in Manchester, England.

Minaj, 41, shared a series of posts on Instagram and X, detailing her experience at Schiphol Airport, including the inspection of her bags that were seized without her consent. She reported that airport authorities informed her of finding drugs in her luggage, "despite it having been previously checked by customs officials."

In a video she posted, she conversed with someone she later identified as the pilot of her flight, who told her that authorities decided to search her bags due to a complaint from an officer about her filming him.

Minaj remarked that "cannabis is legal in Amsterdam," but she felt she was being harassed due to a conspiracy involving several individuals allegedly bribed to prevent her from reaching Manchester for her concert. She expressed suspicion that the pilot might be involved in this plan, as she was unable to see the plane designated for her at the airport upon arrival, as well as his desire to delete the video she posted.

Minaj stopped posting after confirming her summons to give a statement regarding her private security officer, who claimed that the excess cannabis rolls belonged to him and had nothing to do with the singer.

Robert van Kapel, a spokesperson for the Dutch airline, later confirmed to NBC News that "we can confirm we have arrested a 41-year-old American woman at Schiphol Airport for possessing a light narcotic," without mentioning Minaj's name.
