Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, of Real Madrid, has denied leaks regarding the starting lineup for the Champions League final. Numerous Spanish reports in recent days suggested that Ancelotti had decided to field Belgian Thibaut Courtois in the starting lineup against Borussia Dortmund in the final match. According to the Spanish network "Defensa Central," Ancelotti spoke personally with Andriy Lunin, the Real Madrid goalkeeper, and denied having made this decision about the Champions League final.
Ancelotti told the Ukrainian goalkeeper: "It is not true that I have already made the decision, I want you in the best condition for the final match, whether to play 90 minutes or 10 minutes, or just for support from the sidelines... Without you, we would not have reached Wembley."
It is worth noting that Andriy Lunin outperformed Kepa Arrizabalaga and became the starting goalkeeper for Real Madrid during Courtois's injury, delivering impressive performances that led the team to win La Liga and reach the Champions League final.
