Baghdad Clasico on "Worn Out Turf"

Baghdad Clasico on

After the kickoff of the Clasico match between Al-Jawiya and Al-Zawraa, amidst significant attendance and interest, the pitch at the Al-Madina Al-Dawlia Stadium "Al-Habibiya" in Iraq faced extensive criticism from fans. This prompted Baghdad Today agency to investigate the state of the pitch and the reasons for its current condition, as it had previously met international standards implemented by a company affiliated with Captain Falah Mamfih. It was later replaced with inferior turf by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, according to specialists.

Images from inside the stadium showed damage to the pitch, leading to questions about why the previous high-quality turf was replaced and how the surface of this important sports facility was ruined. Specialists noted that the previous turf at Al-Habibiya Stadium was installed with the "Hybrid Mix" type, commonly used in most developed countries' sports venues. They also mentioned that this type of pitch cultivation, which goes through more than six stages, was similarly utilized by Captain Falah Mamfih for the pitch at Al-Nasiriya Stadium.
