The Secretary of State of the Vatican City, Cardinal Pietro Barolin, stated that he came to Lebanon as part of an initiative to do everything necessary to assist the country. He added, "Pray for us." Barolin arrived at Beirut airport this afternoon, where he was welcomed by Abdullah Bou Habib, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government. Also present to receive Barolin at the VIP terminal were the Papal Nuncio in Lebanon, Paolo Borgia, the Patriarchal Deputy, Hanna Alwan, and members of the Papal Embassy in Lebanon.
