Prime Minister Najib Mikati continued his meetings and discussions with heads of states and governments during the climate conference. In this context, French President Emmanuel Macron received President Mikati, and they discussed French efforts to address the Lebanese situation. The French President emphasized the priority of conducting Lebanese presidential elections for the regular functioning of institutions.
Prime Minister Mikati also met with Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden, attended by Environment Minister Nasser Yassine. During this meeting, Bouden renewed her invitation to Mikati to participate in the 18th Francophonie Summit, which will be held on the 19th and 20th of this month on the island of Djerba after being postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Mikati met with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, where they discussed relations between the two countries. President Mikati thanked Egypt for its constant support for Lebanon in all areas.
Additionally, President Mikati received British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, and they discussed relations between their countries. Mikati also met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to discuss whether the UN could assist in facilitating the election of a new president for Lebanon.
