The Lebanese University announced in a statement that it has been "ranked among the top one hundred universities globally (51-100) in the field of petroleum engineering, and among the top one hundred fifty universities globally (101-150) in the fields of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, and among the top three hundred universities globally (251-300) in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering." This is based on the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) report for university rankings by disciplines for the year 2024. According to QS, the Lebanese University ranked first in Lebanon according to the academic reputation index in the disciplines of pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, computer science, mathematics, and medical sciences. The figures from the QS World University Rankings by Subjects 2024 indicate that the Lebanese University maintained its position this year in the disciplines of engineering, pharmacy, and pharmaceutical sciences compared to last year's figures, while it recorded progress in the field of medical sciences in the 2024 ranking version. QS noted in its report that it relied on surveys of academic reputation, reputation in the job market, and the International Research Network (IRN) index to evaluate programs from approximately 1559 educational institutions globally, including the Lebanese University, covering 55 disciplines across five main areas.
