Al-Ittihad is preparing a strong offer to sign German goalkeeper Andre Ter Stegen from Barcelona next summer. The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported, "There have been rumors in the past about a Saudi team being interested in Ter Stegen, but sources close to the player denied it due to the lack of any confirmed offers."
It added, "The newspaper was able to confirm this news, and Al-Ittihad will indeed present an offer to Ter Stegen once the current season concludes." It continued, "Ramon Planes, the sporting director of Al-Ittihad, knows Ter Stegen well from his time at Barcelona and has no doubt that he is the ideal goalkeeper for the Saudi club."
The report mentioned, "Ashraf Ben Ayad, a journalist collaborating with the newspaper, hinted back in February that Ter Stegen has significant interest from a Saudi team, and Fabrizio Romano also spoke about Al-Ittihad's interest in the Barcelona goalkeeper, along with other stars like Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah."
It concluded, "We confirm that the news about Al-Ittihad's interest in Ter Stegen is accurate, although the deal remains challenging." A source from the club told "Mundo Deportivo": "Ter Stegen is a clear target for us, and we will try to persuade him to come to the Saudi league." It is noteworthy that Ter Stegen signed a new contract with Barcelona last August until 2028.
