Sevilla FC, competing in Spain's La Liga, announced on Monday that they have signed coach Kiki Sánchez Flores to replace Diego Alonso. Sánchez Flores will be the third coach for the Spanish club this season. His last experience was with Getafe, where he was dismissed after the club fell into the relegation zone. The 58-year-old Spaniard has previously coached Watford, Espanyol, Atlético Madrid, as well as Benfica and Valencia, among other teams. The club stated in an announcement on their official website: "Sevilla has reached an agreement with Kiki Sánchez Flores to coach the first team until 2025." Sevilla dismissed coach Alonso last Saturday after he led the team to only two wins since taking over in October, replacing José Luis Mendilibar. The Uruguayan coach failed to win any matches in the league or the Champions League during his nine-week tenure, resulting in the team dropping to 17th place in La Liga. Sevilla will visit struggling Granada tomorrow, Tuesday.
