The Attorney General of the Moroccan King at the Casablanca Court of Appeal is expected to determine the date for the first session of the trial of the "Desert Escobar" network that has implicated prominent figures. The investigating judge of the mentioned court has completed the investigation on this matter, and the file has been referred to the public prosecutor while awaiting the scheduling of the trial for individuals including Said Nasri, president of Wydad Casablanca, one of the largest football clubs in Morocco and Africa, and Abdel Nabi Bayoumi, president of the Eastern Region Council, among other prominent officials.

The investigating judge in Casablanca decided to proceed against the accused following a complaint from international financial baron Haj Ahmed Ben Ibrahim, known as "Desert Escobar," for the crime of international drug trafficking. The accused are being charged with participation in an agreement aimed at possessing, trafficking, transporting, and exporting narcotics, as well as attempting to export them.

The charges also extend to Nasri, who is accused of fraud and forgery of official and commercial documents, as well as abuse of power through his position, having previously served as a member of parliament and later as president of the Casablanca regional council. Sources noted that Nasri is also charged with threatening and pressuring some individuals to make false statements.

Abdel Nabi Bayoumi, the main accused in this case, is being pursued on charges of bribery and forgery of an official document, in addition to participation in an agreement aimed at possessing, trafficking, transporting, and exporting narcotics, concealing obtained items from an offense, and using vehicles without obtaining a registration certificate (gray card).

In addition to Nasri and Bayoumi, several individuals are being prosecuted, including Belqassim Mir, a former parliamentarian from the Authenticity and Modernity Party, businessmen, a fashion designer, company managers, traders, a notary, security personnel, and public service employees.
