The head of the Bakers' Association in Mount Lebanon, Antoine Saif, indicated during an interview with "Nokta Aas-Satr" via Voice of Lebanon that the Ministry of Economy is not the only entity determining the financial policy regarding bread. He stated that either the government supports the bread and secures the funding, or it does not. He added, "The loan from the World Bank for the purchase of white flour designated for making Arabic bread will end next September, and I do not believe the government will maintain the subsidy for the bread." He continued, "If the subsidy is lifted and the size of the bread does not change, its price will not exceed 70,000 Lebanese pounds."
