Dr. Olga Fostrikova, the President of the International Federation for the Care and Support of Patients, indicates that cancer cells are present in every person's body, but the immune system fights them. According to her, if a doctor is not consulted in a timely manner, the likelihood of developing cancer significantly increases. She states: "This process is ongoing; once there is a weakening of the immune system, the cause of which is unknown, it leads to the emergence of a tumor. Additionally, all chronic diseases are also caused by a weakened immune system. Cancer is a chronic disease, so if a person neglects the chronic conditions they suffer from and does not see a doctor in time, their chance of developing cancer increases."
The doctor notes that, in addition to chronic diseases, viruses and bad habits can lead to cancer. She explains: "For example, children worldwide are currently vaccinated against the human papillomavirus before they become sexually active. Scientists have proven that these vaccinated children do not later develop cervical cancer or penile cancer. Moreover, all bad habits (smoking, alcohol addiction, drug use) undermine the human immune system, which consequently leads to cancer."
According to her, often a person does not feel the tumor because it develops asymptomatically. She says: "Generally, there are no symptoms at all, but when a person goes to the doctor in a timely manner and undergoes examination, it can detect a primary tumor at an early stage, and in this case, it can be completely treated. Therefore, the only way to detect cancer early is through medical examination and consulting a doctor."
