The command stated in a statement that "after hearing gunfire in the Raparin area (eastern Sulaymaniyah) last night, police forces immediately headed to the scene, where a 15-year-old teenager was found dead." It added that "the police opened an investigation into the incident, which led them to identify the suspect in the murder, who is a member of the Kurdistan Commando Forces." It was clarified that "the Commando commander instructed this morning to hand over the suspect to the police, which was done." The statement confirmed that "the suspect (F.F.M) is detained under judicial orders according to Article 405 of the Iraqi Penal Code, and the investigation is ongoing."
