The British newspaper "The Times" considered the new photos released of French President Emmanuel Macron practicing boxing as an attempt to emulate the strong image of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The British paper, citing opinions from French experts, wrote: "These images convey a message of 'extreme masculinity' and remind us of pictures of Putin riding a horse or practicing judo."
In the midst of discussions about possibly sending French soldiers to Ukraine, Macron posted photos of himself boxing. Is this a message to Putin?
The article notes that "Macron is trying in this way to shed his image as a solitary and introverted person," pointing out that these images emerged against the backdrop of the French president's aggressive discourse regarding Ukraine.
It is worth mentioning that at the end of February, the French president stated: "The leaders of Western countries discussed the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, but no consensus was reached." He added at that time, "But nothing can be ruled out." During a meeting with French opposition leaders in early March, Macron confirmed that France "has no limits or red lines" regarding assistance to Kyiv.
