Jordan's Prime Minister: We Will Not Allow Any Threats to Our Security and Stability

Jordan's Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh affirmed today, Wednesday, that Jordan will not allow any threats to its security and stability, stating that "it will continue to firmly confront anything that jeopardizes the safety of its citizens, the sanctity of its lands and skies with all available means and from any party," following the recent escalation between Israel and Iran.

During his meeting at his office in the Prime Ministry with Dr. Abdullah Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council, and the accompanying delegation, he reiterated Jordan's position, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, on the "urgent need to halt the aggression on Gaza immediately, ensure a mechanism for delivering adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid, protect civilians, and move towards a political horizon that leads to a just and comprehensive peace, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution and international references."

Additionally, the Prime Minister praised the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, in support of Jordan and the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations, primarily the Palestinian cause, noting "the ongoing and continuous coordination between the two brotherly countries at all levels to frame efforts and positions that would lead to establishing a permanent and comprehensive solution that contributes to affirming the legitimate Palestinian rights and achieving security and stability."

He pointed out "the importance of enhancing cooperation in the field of investment, particularly in light of the existing common ground and the nucleus for investment projects between the two countries through the Saudi Jordanian Investment Fund, and the significant steps Jordan has taken to improve the investment environment, which would support the private sector, encourage existing investments, and stimulate the attraction of new investments."

For his part, the Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council confirmed "the historical and genuinely strong brotherly relations between the two countries and the two peoples and the mutual and constant eagerness to enhance them, embodying the visions of their wise leaderships in a manner that contributes to achieving their common interests and supporting the issues of the Arab and Islamic nations."
