Today, there are 50 million people worldwide who are blind, with a significant proportion of them affected by cataracts. Dr. Kolgiana Arjimovatova, head of the Eye Care Center in Moscow, points out that "the disease of cataracts develops as follows: everything appears blurry and double to the eye at first, and then nothing can be seen." According to her, cataracts are a widely prevalent disease, with 20 million people suffering from it globally. There are many causative factors for cataracts: smoking, arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, aging, and genetics. However, recently the disease has also begun to affect younger individuals. It has been found that the cause is linked to excessive use of electronic devices and not wearing sunglasses. Additionally, early development of cataracts is influenced by environmental factors, eye injuries, and other eye diseases such as glaucoma and myopia.
