Oman's Maritime Security Center announced today, Wednesday, that "search and rescue operations successfully rescued nine crew members of the 'Prestige Falcon' tanker which capsized off the coast of Oman on Monday". It added that rescue teams found the body of one crew member. Indian government and maritime officials, who are assisting in the search and rescue operations, stated that at least nine out of the 16 crew members aboard a oil tanker registered under the Comoros flag were rescued after it capsized off the Sultanate of Oman on Monday. Indian officials mentioned that the search for the remaining crew members is ongoing in the area.
