Al-Murtada Discusses Situations with Russian Ambassador

Minister of Culture in the caretaker government, Muhammad Wissam Al-Murtada, met at his office in the National Library - Sanayeh, with Russia's Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the general situation in Lebanon and the region, the developments in Palestinian territories, and the right of peoples to self-determination, in addition to the importance of cultural coordination and cooperation between the two countries.

After the meeting, Ambassador Rudakov stated: "I was pleased to meet with Minister Al-Murtada; it was an opportunity to discuss the bilateral relations between our countries in light of the current circumstances and what is happening in the region, especially in the Palestinian territories, and the consequences not just for Palestinians but for all peoples in the region. Of course, we also addressed the assessment of cultural cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Lebanon and the effort to develop it for the benefit of all."

For his part, Minister Al-Murtada expressed: "I must thank the ambassador for this visit at this specific time; he is always welcome. We discussed several matters and it was indeed an emotional moment concerning the grave injustices being witnessed in Gaza, which is a disgrace to humanity. It was affirmed that the peoples of this world have the right to live freely away from arrogance and tyranny and have the right to reject what is imposed on them."

He added: "It was confirmed that Lebanon is a strong and capable country, governed by wisdom, and in the end, the victory will belong to the right." Al-Murtada continued: "It was also an opportunity to explore ways to activate and strengthen the ties between the two countries, agreeing that culture constitutes the highest levels of awareness and human sensitivity, enabling oppressed peoples to shape their realities and determine their futures."
