Israeli Army Announces the Death of Two Soldiers in Gaza Battles

The Israeli army announced on Saturday evening the deaths of Sergeant Yair Afitan (20 years old) and Reserve Major Yakir Shmuel Tatlbom (21 years old) in a battle in northern Gaza. Afitan is from the Ra'anana area and is a fighter in the 890th Battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade, while Tatlbom is from Ma'ale Adumim and serves in the 77th Battalion of the "Saar Maglan" unit. The army also reported that two other soldiers were seriously injured during the battles in northern Gaza, while Hebrew media mentioned that "an officer from the Givati Brigade was seriously injured due to an anti-tank missile during battles in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood." According to military analyst Yossi Melman in the Israeli newspaper "Haaretz," the total number of Israeli soldiers killed so far stands at 670.
