U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, expressing his disapproval of how they handled their relationship with the British royal family. He stated that if it were up to him, he would not have allowed their return.
On Wednesday, President Trump conveyed his satisfaction with Prince Harry and his family's departure from the United States back to Britain, as reported by Reuters.
When asked about Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent announcement of their intention to leave California after 6 years, Trump responded, "I'm happy about that. I wasn't a fan of theirs."
He added, "I believe they treated the royal family with significant disrespect. I didn't like that. If I were the royal family, I wouldn’t welcome them back."
Trump highlighted his good relationship with the royal family, describing his relations with Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles as "very good," calling King Charles "a wonderful man."
After more than 6 years since stepping back from their royal duties and relocating to the U.S., Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to Britain on August 28.
Harry and Meghan have not been active members of the royal family since 2020 and are not expected to undertake any official duties.
