"Unclear" Factors Affecting Vision

Professor Stanislav Ionov from the Faculty of Medicine at the Russian University of Education has revealed unclear factors that cause vision impairment. The doctor states, "Many doctors do not recommend wearing glasses if myopia is mild and less than one diopter, because the lens adapts quickly, its curvature changes, and then it becomes very difficult to correct this vision defect. If vision loss reaches two or three diopters, glasses should be worn to avoid eye strain; however, even in such cases, wearing glasses all the time is not recommended as the lens needs training. Moreover, with age, myopia may simply disappear."

Reading while in transit can contribute to vision problems, especially if the screen is small and the font size is tiny; this is because the eye lens cannot always keep up with sudden movements, making it difficult to focus and increasing strain on the retina.

According to him, another factor causing vision impairment is stress, which leads to disrupted nutrition of the retina due to the spasms of blood vessels resulting from adrenaline secretion. Thus, as stress increases, vision impairment worsens. He states, "Vision can deteriorate with age due to the formation of cholesterol plaques in the eye's blood vessels. Additionally, pathological changes in the retinal blood vessels are frequently associated with diabetes, when vessels become hardened due to high blood sugar, which turns into fats that form plaques that settle and block blood vessels."

According to him, the use of false eyelashes may also lead to impaired vision, as the chemicals cause redness, irritation of the cornea, allergic reactions, and spasms of the blood vessels in the eye.
