A video has circulated on social media showing the famous rapper Sean Combs "Diddy" assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, in an incident dating back to 2016, which matches the details of a lawsuit Ventura filed last November. The footage from various angles of surveillance cameras reveals that the rapper was in a hotel in Los Angeles, California, where he exited a room and hurried towards the elevators, wrapping a towel around his waist, in pursuit of the victim.
The video shared by CNN shows Diddy grabbing Ventura, assaulting her, and throwing her to the ground.
BREAKING: NEW P DIDDY FOOTAGE SHOWS HIM BEATING HIS GIRLFRIEND IN A HOTEL HALLWAY. They always have information on influential people, so the question is: what did he refuse to do that led them to decide to expose him? pic.twitter.com/Rz3IaDP5A0— Sulaiman Ahmed (@ShaykhSulaiman) May 17, 2024
When she fell to the ground, he pulled her bag and luggage from near the elevator, kicked her again while she was lying motionless on the floor, before dragging her back toward the room. Ventura, who reached an undisclosed settlement in the lawsuit she filed against Diddy, declined to comment on the video released by CNN.
Her lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, told the network: "The painful video confirmed Mr. Combs' disturbing and vicious behavior. Words cannot express the courage and resilience exhibited by Ms. Ventura in moving forward to bring this to light."
Diddy had an on-and-off relationship with Ventura, a model and singer, from 2007 to 2018. Ventura's lawsuit filed in November 2023 indicated that the incident captured by the CNN video occurred around March 2016, during which Combs was "extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face." The lawsuit added that she attempted to leave after believing he had fallen asleep, but he woke up and followed her to the hotel entrance.
