The Federation Council of Russia announced that President Vladimir Putin has proposed the dismissal of Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu while retaining his veteran Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The official news agency "Novosti" reported that the Federation Council received a list of candidates suggested by President Putin for the heads of several ministries and federal agencies.
In the president's proposal, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu is absent and replaced by Andrei Rimovich Belousov, who previously served as the first deputy prime minister in Mikhail Mishustin's government. Last Friday, Putin reappointed Mikhail Mishustin as prime minister. The full list of candidates is as follows:
