A witness who survived the tragic fire that broke out in a workers' building early Wednesday morning in the Al-Mankh area of Kuwait, resulting in 49 fatalities, shared horrifying details about the incident. In an interview with the "STS" newspaper, one of the survivors explained that while he was waking up for the dawn prayer, he noticed the moment the fire started, emphasizing that he was on the upper floors where the blaze erupted. He added that some residents jumped from the building's balconies, while others descended via the stairs, but the thick smoke prevented them from receiving oxygen. He noted that he could not exit his room on the fourth floor until the Civil Defense arrived and controlled the fires on the lower floors after about two hours. He mentioned that he could see charred bodies every time he descended a floor.
