Arrest of 5 Suspects for Forging Real Estate Contracts in Iraq

The Iraqi National Security Agency announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of 5 suspects involved in trading private and government properties in two provinces. The agency stated in a statement that "based on confirmed intelligence information, the agency's teams in Maysan province managed, after obtaining judicial approvals, to arrest an individual trading in citizens' properties."

It added: "After confronting the suspect with evidence, he confessed to seizing abandoned homes belonging to citizens who left due to tribal issues, in addition to homes belonging to deceased individuals through forged sale and purchase contracts."

The agency mentioned that "its teams were able, in Kirkuk province during various operations, to arrest 4 suspects for trading state-owned properties, in possession of stamps and forged contracts," clarifying that "the suspects were referred to the relevant judicial authorities to receive their just punishment according to the law."
