Chinese and American Defense Ministers Discuss Taiwan and Gaza

The spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, Wu Qian, stated that "Defense Minister Dong Jun and his American counterpart Lloyd Austin held a constructive meeting in Singapore on Friday, during which they discussed issues related to Taiwan, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and the conflict in the Gaza Strip." In statements to reporters on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue security summit, Dong warned Austin that the United States should not interfere in China's affairs regarding Taiwan, a democratically governed island that Beijing wishes to bring under its control.
