The Ministry of Interior in Serbia announced today, Saturday, that "a person armed with a bow and arrow injured a police officer who was guarding the Israeli embassy in Belgrade, and the officer responded by firing, resulting in the death of the attacker." Interior Minister Ivica Dacic stated in a statement that "the attacker shot a short arrow at the officer, hitting him in the neck." He added that the officer "used his weapon in self-defense to shoot at the attacker, who died from his injuries." The Interior Minister noted that "the officer was conscious when he was transferred to the main emergency hospital in Belgrade, where he will undergo surgery to remove the arrow from his neck." Dacic clarified: "An investigation is underway into all the circumstances of the attack and its possible motives."
