The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club announced the participation of the modern sailing team in the 15th edition of the "Choco" International Cup for Optimist in Hungary, which will take place from June 7 to 9. The participating team consists of five competitors: Khalifa Al-Rumaithi, Zayed Al-Hosani, Thiyab Al-Mahiri, Hamad Al-Mahiri, and Abdullah Al-Zubaidi, along with coach Albert Sharhanan. The club's delegation will depart for Hungary this coming Friday to continue their planned preparation program under the guidance of the coaching staff to get the competitors ready. Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, Head of the Academy Department at the club, reaffirmed the Board of Directors' commitment, under the direction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan, to provide all necessary support for the success of sports teams in international competitions and to prepare them according to best practices, enhancing their chances for competition and achieving positive results. He added that the team includes promising young talents aged between 7 to 15 years, including competitor Hamad Al-Mahiri, who is one of the youngest participants in the tournament at the age of 7, aligning with strategic goals for preparing future champions and developing their skills while providing them with international experience.
