In an artistic series created using artificial intelligence, architect and digital artist Hassan Ragab imagines what residential buildings in Egypt would look like if they adopted the form of pyramids and followed the principles of ancient Egyptian architecture. Ragab's Instagram account is filled with images of places and buildings with fantastical geometric shapes created using AI tools. In an interview with CNN Arabic, he mentioned that this series, titled "We are All Kings," serves as a personal observation of the capital, Cairo, or an expression of a romantic state between the past and the present.
The Egyptian architect and digital artist sees this AI-generated vision as metaphorically rich regarding the possibility of this concept of residential buildings becoming a reality. However, some have found that pyramid-shaped buildings could represent the future of architecture in Egypt. Ragab believes that the pyramid shape is distinctive from an engineering perspective, noting that the Pyramids of Giza might be the reason behind this, emphasizing that the symbolism of the pyramid goes beyond just its form, as it is seen as a symbol of Egypt.
Ragab pointed out that the series he shared on Instagram received admiration and praise from his followers. He confirmed, "Interaction on social media is always interesting.
