The Electricité du Liban (EDL) announced in a statement that "in the latest series of repeated attacks by the Israeli enemy on the networks and facilities belonging to the institution, the Marjeyoun station was targeted late on Saturday, July 13, 2024, by several artillery shells, resulting in severe damage to transformers, cells, and high-voltage networks, thus leading to its shutdown. The institution is currently assessing the technical and engineering situation of the station to take the appropriate measures."
