Neuer to Miss Germany Matches Against France and Netherlands Due to Injury

Bayern Munich, the reigning champions of the German Bundesliga, announced today, Wednesday, that their goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer will miss the German national team's two friendly matches after suffering a muscle strain in his left adductor during training with the team. Bayern and the national team have not provided a timeline for Neuer's (37 years old) return to the field. The German national team will face France in Lyon on March 23, and then host the Netherlands in Frankfurt on March 26.

Bayern Munich, which is ten points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, will host their traditional rival Borussia Dortmund on March 30 before visiting Heidenheim on April 6. Additionally, Bayern Munich announced that "defender Sasha Boui will be sidelined for several weeks due to a recurrence of his injury to the hamstring." Boui (23 years old), a defender for the French youth team who joined Bayern from Turkish club Galatasaray in January for 30 million euros (32.59 million dollars), suffered a tear in the hamstring of his left leg in mid-February.
