Security Incident "Serious" Mobilizes Israeli Army on Lebanon Border

Security Incident

This morning, Israel closed roads around the settlement of Hanita due to fears of an infiltration from Lebanon and requested residents of Hanita to stay indoors. The Israeli newspaper "Yediot Ahronot" reported that "some roads in Western Galilee were closed due to suspicion of border infiltration from Lebanon." Meanwhile, "Al-Arabiya" confirmed "the firing of mortars towards Israeli military sites in the Shebaa Farms." It added: "The Israeli army is shelling the areas of Dhahiya and Labouna in southern Lebanon." Israeli Channel 13 stated: "Three suspects were spotted in the Hanita area, triggering a state of alert." Since dawn, the outskirts of the towns of Tyre Harfa, Alama Shaab, Dhahiya, and the Batisha area have been subjected to intense artillery bombardment. This coincides with a sweeping operation around the Haddab site using medium and heavy machine guns, and the deployment of illuminating flares over the site and surrounding forests. The Israeli army's artillery continued its bombardment late into the night, affecting the outskirts of Tyre Harfa, Al-Jabeen, Yarin, Al-Bustan, and Alama Shaab. Additionally, Israeli reconnaissance aircraft have been flying overnight and into the morning over villages in the western and central sectors, reaching the outskirts of the city of Tyre, coinciding with the release of illuminating bombs over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line. A cautious calm had prevailed over the western and central sectors last night, interrupted by artillery shelling before midnight targeting the outskirts of the towns of Dhahiya, Alama Shaab, and Tyre Harfa, in addition to flights of the MK aircraft over the skies of Alama Shaab, Labouna, and Naqoura in the western sector of southern Lebanon.
