Man Throws Two Firebombs at the Norwegian Royal Palace

A man in an electric wheelchair threw two incendiary devices at the Norwegian royal palace in Oslo, according to the police in the Norwegian capital on Monday. Initially, the man told a witness that he was carrying a bomb and then threw two Molotov cocktails toward the rear of the building, as reported by the police. The police stated that a fire broke out but was quickly extinguished, and the situation was "brought under control," adding that the man was arrested swiftly. The motives behind this crime remain unclear. Footage published by the newspaper "Verdens Gang" showed a fire igniting in front of a large gate of the palace, with police officers working to extinguish it with fire extinguishers. The royal palace told NRK television that the extent of the damage is not yet clear. It is worth noting that the royal palace, where King Harald V and Queen Sonja reside, is located in the center of Oslo and is surrounded by a large garden.
