Chinese state television reported that "more than 30 people are missing following the collapse of a bridge in the Chashui province in the northwest of the country." The report noted that "on Friday at around 20:40 local time in Chashui in the Shanlu region, a highway bridge collapsed due to heavy rains, causing several vehicles to fall into the river." It added: "Initial inspection has confirmed that approximately 20 vehicles and more than 30 people are still missing." In detail, the state television announced that 11 people have died as a result of the incident in the area, and 5 submerged vehicles have been recovered from the river.
