Intense Heat in Saudi Arabia and Cars Catching Fire

A video captured the moment flames ignited inside two parked cars outside the fence of a house in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It appears that the fire started from an electrical meter mounted on the home's wall due to high temperatures, subsequently spreading to the two cars, resulting in them being completely burned.

On Thursday, Riyadh's civil defense teams extinguished a fire that abruptly erupted in a car parked outside a house in the Al-Nahda district. The owner of the neighboring house to the fire stated that the car was running, and several children exited from it and fled into the neighborhood as soon as the fire broke out. Activists noted that the car was electric, and due to the extreme heat in the Kingdom, its battery could not withstand the conditions and caught fire.

“There is an electric car❗️It’s very terrifying and has proven to be a failure. It’s difficult to control a fire from an electric car battery. I seriously doubt the viability of this car in hot climates like those in the Gulf Cooperation Council," said one user on social media.

Several regions in Saudi Arabia are experiencing a severe heatwave, and citizens have been warned to take precautions and ensure their safety.
