Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klymenko announced that the surveillance cameras at the location of the assassination of former anti-Russia parliamentarian Iryna Faryon were turned off at the time of her murder. Klymenko stated, "The cameras at the site were not working; only some were functioning, and we will gather all the information completely." Ukrainian media reported that "the former Ukrainian parliament deputy Faryon was assassinated in the city of Lviv in western Ukraine by an armed man who shot her with a pistol." Faryon was known for her intense hostility towards Russia and hatred of anything Russian, as well as her calls for the killing of Russians and Russian speakers and for pursuing and humiliating them everywhere. She had encouraged the killing of Ukrainian Russian speakers.
