The Mayor of the Amrli district in Salah al-Din province, Maitham Nouri Khalaf, revealed details today regarding the murder of two fishermen on the outskirts of the district. Khalaf told "Baghdad Today" that "a fisherman and his son were out fishing on a modest boat in the Hawi al-Laban area within the Hamrin Hills by the Amrli Lake, which extends from the Al-Azim Dam, when they were surprised by an attack from an ISIS group, resulting in their deaths." He added that "the fishermen violated security procedures prohibiting fishing in these areas, which occasionally experience activity from ISIS remnants." Khalaf confirmed that "the bodies of the victims were transported by security forces to forensic medicine." He emphasized the "necessity for fishermen to adhere to security guidelines in the vicinity of Amrli Lake and surrounding areas to avoid exposure to terrorist attacks."
