Embry: Commercial Ship Reports Two Explosions West of Mokha in Yemen

Britain's Embry maritime security company reported early this Friday that a commercial ship reported two explosions about 21 nautical miles west of Mokha, Yemen. The ship informed Embry that a "rocket" fell into the water while another exploded in the air, adding that the explosions occurred within half a nautical mile of the vessel. In a memo from Embry, it was stated that "the ship was not activating its automatic identification system at that time." Embry is working to investigate the ship's connection to the parties that the Houthis claim are targeting vessels associated with them. The Iranian-aligned Houthi group in Yemen has been carrying out drone and missile attacks on shipping routes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden in solidarity with the Palestinians in the war waged by Israel on Gaza. The Houthis have launched dozens of attacks, resulting in the sinking of two ships and the seizure of another, in addition to the deaths of at least three sailors.
