Ahead of a supposed ceasefire, the Israeli army once again urged residents of northern Gaza, specifically Shuja'iyya and Jabalia, to evacuate their homes immediately. Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced in a tweet on "X" that residents of these areas should head via Salah al-Din road by 4 PM local time to reach southern Gaza Valley and to the "humanitarian area."
"Urgent to the residents of Gaza, especially those in the northern sector: to the residents of the city of Gaza and specifically the neighborhoods of Old Jabalia and Shuja'iyya, we urge you to evacuate your living areas immediately for your safety via Salah al-Din road by 4 PM to reach southern Gaza Valley and the humanitarian area," he stated.
He also mentioned that there would be a "temporary tactical suspension of military activities" between 10 AM and 2 PM for what he termed "humanitarian purposes" in the Salam and Al-Manara neighborhoods in Khan Younis. He claimed that Hamas had lost control over the northern sector and accused it of trying to prevent residents from moving south.
Despite the calls to move south, Israel targeted a house in Bani Suheila in eastern Khan Younis, resulting in the deaths of 14 people and injuring at least 13 members of the Abu Masmah family. Residents of the targeted residential area stated that they did not hear any explosions but suddenly found themselves in the midst of destruction.
