Morocco has become the most attractive country for tourists in North Africa, having successfully surpassed Egypt during the first half of 2024. According to recent data from the tourism ministries of North African countries, Morocco ranked first in receiving the number of tourists.
During the first six months of this year, the number of tourists arriving in Morocco increased by 14 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 7.4 million tourists. Egypt followed in second place, having welcomed 7.069 million tourists during the same period, with Tunisia in third place (4 million tourists), as reported by the Moroccan website "Hespress."
Earlier in July, Morocco's Minister of Tourism, Fatima Zahra Amour, stated that tourism revenues had increased by 1.6 percent during the first five months of this year, amounting to $4.13 billion.
