The Israeli army announced on Monday that new evidence has emerged connecting the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza to hostages held by armed groups, stating that they found inside the facility a hostage's vehicle that was mistakenly killed by soldiers. "Here’s more evidence connecting Hamas’ terrorist activities to the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza. The finding of these vehicles directly links the hospital to the brutal events of the October 7 massacre," the Israel Defense Forces tweeted on December 25, 2023.
The army stated that a Toyota Corolla with an Israeli license plate, owned by the family of Samer al-Talalqa, was found within the Indonesian hospital. Al-Talalqa was one of three hostages mistakenly killed by Israeli soldiers earlier this month, as the soldiers believed they posed a threat. The army's statement noted that "remnants of a rocket-propelled grenade and blood stains, found to belong to another hostage," were discovered in the vehicle, without providing further details.
