The Lebanese Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. George Kallas, is in ongoing discussions with his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, over the phone. Most of their conversation focused on the issue of the Camille Chamoun Sports City. Sobhi informed the Lebanese minister that he will soon assign a team of Egyptian engineers to visit Beirut, and the date will be determined in coordination with him, with the aim of assessing the condition of the grass surface at the sports city in preparation for its rehabilitation, as promised by the Egyptian minister recently.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is working to complete a comprehensive report to provide to the Egyptian delegation upon their arrival in Beirut. The ministry is relying on information it possesses as well as that from the Public Facility for Sports Infrastructure, and is also waiting for a report from a specialized team tasked by the President of the Lebanese Football Association, Mr. Hashem Haidar, at the request of Minister George Kallas, to prepare an engineering study, along with a similar team from the Murad Company, which is assigned to conduct an electrical engineering study due to the generous cooperation of its president, Mr. Ali Murad.
