The court has set the date for the first session of the trial for Karim Mohamed Selim, known in the media as the "Gathering Butcher," at the Cairo Criminal Court for Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He is accused of murdering three women, possessing narcotic substances, and facilitating drug abuse and human trafficking.
The Public Prosecution issued a statement on Sunday confirming the referral of the Gathering Butcher to the competent criminal court to face charges related to the deaths of three women, as well as the possession of narcotic substances and facilitating drug use and human trafficking.
Investigations revealed shocking details about the Gathering Butcher, who lured three women to his residence, where he committed unethical and sadistic acts. He forced them to consume narcotic substances until they died, then proceeded to kill them and dispose of their bodies in various locations to conceal the evidence of his horrific crimes.
The Gathering Butcher confessed during investigations that he exploited the vulnerability of his first victim, 28-year-old Rahma Ahmed Saber Mohammed, taking advantage of her need for financial support. He lured her to his home, strangled her, and after ensuring her death, he violated her body several times. He then transported her corpse in a black bag in his car and disposed of it along the 30 June road in the jurisdiction of Qantara West.
