The Cairo Criminal Court decided today, Tuesday, to postpone the verdict for five defendants, including one whose case has been referred to the Mufti for an opinion regarding his execution for the murder of Major General Hassan Al-Abidi, the Yemeni military official, inside his apartment in Bulaq Dakrour, with premeditation and accompanied by armed robbery and concealment of stolen goods. This session has been scheduled for April 4, 2024, to summon a female defendant from her detention.
In the previous session, the court referred the papers of "Ramadan. B," one of the defendants in the case, to the Mufti of Egypt for a legal opinion on his execution. The prosecutor stated in his plea that "the defendants exploited the victim's presence alone in his apartment, robbed him after drugging him, and assaulted him."
The charge of "premeditated murder" in the referral order issued by the Public Prosecution indicated that the first through fourth defendants intentionally killed Al-Abidi with premeditation. It was revealed that the first accused, "Israa. S," is unemployed. On February 13, she met the victim while he was in the public street but he left her after receiving a phone call from his friends.
### Details of the Execution of the Crime
Investigations revealed that she returned to her residence in the Imbaba area and told her friend, with whom she had an illicit relationship, the accused "Ramadan. M," 29, a driver. They agreed to involve her half-sister, the accused "Suhair. A," 17, as well as the latter's friend, who has an informal marriage with her and is named "Abdul Rahman. A," to execute the crime.
On February 15, "Israa" and her friend "Ramadan" agreed to go to her sister "Suhair's" house along with her friend "Abdul Rahman," and all agreed to proceed to the victim's house. After ascending to his home, they planned to put drug tablets in a cup of juice for the victim to drink. If he lost his balance, the defendants would enter the apartment, assault him, steal his belongings and money, and search the apartment.
To facilitate this, "Israa" called the victim and informed him that she and her sister were ready to come to his place, requesting him to send a “location” via phone for easier access. The defendant Ramadan carried a white weapon "a knife," which he hid among his clothes, preparing to use it to assault the victim and intimidate him for robbery, along with the other defendants. At the predetermined time, they went to his apartment on February 16 and killed him.
