The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that "Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman is in communication with Acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani regarding the situation in Gaza and mediation efforts." It added in a statement: "They also discussed the tensions in the Middle East and emphasized the need for de-escalation."
