Information from "An-Nahar" indicated that a meeting will take place today in Bissour, involving former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt, head of the Democratic Party Talal Arslan, Sheikh Aql of the Druze community in Lebanon Sami Abi al-Muna, and Sheikh Nasr al-Din al-Ghareeb. It is expected that the meeting will produce statements described as reflecting "fundamental constants that reassure everyone" in the Druze community. According to "An-Nahar," the meeting will occur during a family reconciliation gathering at the Al-Malaab family’s home in Bissour and will provide an opportunity to align positions regarding the events in Gaza and southern Lebanon. It will also address the community's historical support for the Palestinian cause and condemn malicious campaigns that distort its history based on the stance of some Druze in Palestine, according to sources following the preparations for the meeting. Sources from the Progressive Party affirm that Jumblatt can only support those resisting Israel, and his current stance will be within this context, but this support does not imply an alliance with "Hezbollah," rather it represents an understanding on several points. The sources indicate that the meeting will ease internal tensions among the Druze ahead of the Druze community council elections, according to "An-Nahar."
