The Lebanese Special Olympics is intensifying its preparations for participation in the Special Olympics World Summer Games scheduled to be held in Berlin, Germany, from June 12 to 26. The German edition of the World Games will feature 27 Olympic-style sports, and the Lebanese team aims to enhance the remarkable achievements they previously attained in the last edition held in 2019 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It is noteworthy that the participation of the Lebanese champions will be supported by "WISH Money," which has graciously stepped in to assist the Lebanese delegation, consisting of 18 male and female athletes from various Lebanese organizations working in the field of intellectual disabilities (10 coaches and administrators, competing in 7 sports).
The Lebanese delegation will participate in sports including athletics, swimming, table tennis, badminton, bowling, cycling, and bocce, alongside athletes from 190 countries. They will also be present at the parallel programs held on the sidelines of the games, aimed at fostering inclusive communities, as well as participating in the global youth leaders conference: athlete, partner, and companion, and the general conference for athletes: athlete and companion.
