She embarrassed the student in front of all her friends by saying, "I can't present you on a day you've been waiting for for years!" and referred to the situation as a minor issue that isn't worth it. In the video, Abeer is seen addressing the audience on stage, calling the student named Manar to the stage and putting her in an awkward position by saying, "Come here please because you had a small incident, and you apologized, but I can't honorably introduce you."
Critics expressed their dismay, arguing that the student should be allowed to be happy and celebratory on her graduation day, even if there was a misunderstanding.
