Government Cabinet Session Tomorrow Without Military Appointments

Government Cabinet Session Tomorrow Without Military Appointments

Attention is drawn to the Cabinet session postponed from last Friday to tomorrow morning, Tuesday, to review an agenda heavy with various administrative and financial items. This follows the expiration of the deadline to dismiss the army chief, for which the Parliament found a solution that resists any scrutiny before the Constitutional Council. Ministerial sources told "Al-Jumhuriya" that ministers received an addendum over the weekend that included the addition of five items to the main agenda: approval to issue a decree for the promotion of officers in military and security agencies on behalf of the President, a request from the Ministry of Agriculture to purchase local wheat, a request from the Ministry of Finance to reinstate employees of the General Directorate of Real Estate Affairs to work, and to reaffirm a previous decision by the Cabinet regarding their status, as they are subject to judicial prosecution, accepting donations from various entities for some ministries and public institutions and exempting them from customs duties, in addition to transferring credits from the budget reserve for the year 2023 to some ministries and institutions according to the twelfth clause. Consequently, government sources, through "Al-Jumhuriya," excluded that tomorrow's session would address any appointments within the military institution due to the lack of any data that could lead to the appointment of a Chief of Staff or fill vacancies at the level of military council members.
