Iran's Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Baqeri, stated that "Israel is not in a position to wage war against Iran." Baqeri affirmed that "Tehran's response to the assassination of Ismail Haniya will be costly for Israel but beneficial for the region's security." Baqeri also urged himself and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi to "make constructive and impactful decisions to denounce the Zionist entity and halt its crimes" during their meeting on the sidelines of the emergency meeting of the "Organization of Islamic Cooperation" in Jeddah.
