The Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that controversy surrounded Maradona's death at the time, and the children of the former Barcelona and Napoli star are investigating the matter.
In statements reported by "Marca," the son of the 1986 World Cup winner said, "There is an open investigation, and we have great faith in Argentine justice." Maradona Jr. added, "They killed my father; I know who did it, but I cannot say who it is. They left my father to face his fate when something could have been done. I have made a promise until the last day of my life that I will fight for justice."
Maradona passed away at the age of 60 in 2020 in a private residence in Buenos Aires, Argentina, just weeks after undergoing brain surgery. Later, Argentine authorities charged eight members of the legend's medical team with involuntary manslaughter.
